Peyton Manning, Broncos struggling to get their sea legs

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — The New York/New Jersey Super Bowl counts as unchartered waters for the NFL, so it only stands to reason that the league would bring a boat to the proceedings. The Cornucopia Majesty cruise liner has been the setting for the Denver Broncos’ media availabilities this week.

Wednesday morning, the ship wavered noticeably in the choppy waters — a problem that only increased as the players, coaches and media began shuffling around.

“Is this boat moving?” Peyton Manning asked the reporters gathered around him once he sat down at a podium on the third deck. Later, Manning was asked about his preparations for Super Bowl week. “I wasn’t prepared for a rocking cruise ship,” he replied. “There’s always a wrinkle, I guess.”

Denver’s star kept it together far more effectively than some of his teammates. In fact, tight end Jacob Tamme seemed ready to leave as soon as he sat down at a table with backup quarterbacks Brock Osweiler and Zac Dysert.

“I feel like I’m gonna throw up,” Tamme told his teammates.

“Don’t look out the window,” Dysert cautioned.

Several Broncos, including offensive lineman Orlando Franklin and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, admitted that it was their first time on a boat. The cruise ship certainly made for a unique (if slightly nauseating) venue, with a view of the Freedom Tower and downtown New York available clear as day from just outside the boarding area.

Oddly enough, though, the league opted for the nautical spot over the team’s hotel, the Hyatt Regency, which was mere steps away from where the Majesty docked on the Hudson River.

It's as if someone's making a training video for how to run a Superbowl and they're filming this season as the "What Not to Do" chapter.

@x72 That is so 2002 - geez, get a LIFE!!!!!!  ALL SPORTS TEAMS SPY ON SIGNALS!  Why do coaches cover them mouths when they call the plays in on the microphones? Because all the other teams employ LIPREADERS! Defensive coaches are taught how to STEAL SIGNALS.....It is league-wide, so STFU and deal with it!  If you don't think your team does it, you are a CLOWN!

Also you are wrong they have received 2 rings since spy gate the 2007 Afc and 2011 Afc championship rings.
