NFL unveils new Pro Bowl uniforms
The Pro Bowl is getting new uniforms. Gone are the traditional red and blue, replaced by “vibrant orange” and “volt” in a futuristic look similar to the one that’s become popular in college football.
This is just the latest effort for the NFL in its quest to generate interest in its annual All-Star Game. This summer the league announced that it would scrap its traditional conference setup in favor of a fantasy-style draft. Other modifications include: no kickoffs, a 35-/25-second play clock and the addition of two-minute warnings in the first and third quarter.
Last year’s Pro Bowl drew a 7.7 rating, best among All-Star Games in pro sports. But it generally draws lower ratings than regular-season games.
Will the addition of a draft and new uniforms be the jolt the Pro Bowl is looking for?
