Seahawks’ cornerback Richard Sherman on July 29 cover of Sports Illustrated

NFC West, Seattle Seahawks

Richard Sherman of the Seattle SeahawksHe’s a bombastic, confident, All-Pro cornerback and is now on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Seattle’s loquacious lock-down corner Richard Sherman is the subject of a feature detailing the former Stanford standout’s background behind the bravado and Twitter tough guy act — which, coincidently, isn’t really an act; it’s just who he is.

SI’s Lee Jenkins chronicles Sherman’s rise from a skinny kid growing up in Compton, Calif., to a fifth-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2011 draft. Now, he headlines one of the best defenses in the NFL and is a key cog in what should be a Super Bowl contender in 2013 and beyond.

Sherman addresses two of his more famous — or infamous, depending on how you look at it — news items, including his Twitter beef with Darrelle Revis and his suspension for allegedly taking Adderall, which was eventually overturned.

And luckily for Packers fans, there is no mention of the ‘Fail Mary’ game, although Sherman has been rubbing salt in the wounds of Cheesehead nation ever since.

(You can subscribe to Sports Illustrated here and purchase the tablet edition here.)

Also in the issue is a leadoff print piece from Peter King’s new team at The MMQB, an NFL-only site, aimed at providing the best and most innovative content on the web for NFL fans.

well well well.... right from the horses mouth. Sherman shut down all the naysayers (horses nay)  The comments are ripe on this story,  The Hawks shut down the forty whiners (yes the ones from Whine Country Ca) on the way to a Super bowl . Dynasty?

@imst0ncld Beyond your terrible grammar and silly troll-like behavior, I'm going to respond to your question:

He never used steroids, you silly misinformed fool. He was caught using ADD medicine. THAT IS NOT STEROIDS! That is a silly thing to get busted for, but it does absolutely nothing to boost your physical body or shape. It merely helps you concentrate mentally.

He's the best player in the game. Period. Cry Moar.

@jlap@imst0ncld Actually, you don't know what he tested positive for - the NFL doesn't release that information. All you know is what Sherman claimed to have taken. He could have taken steroids and claimed it was Adderall. He wouldn't be the first person to lie about taking steroids.

@imst0ncld Thanks for confirming that I was spot on about both the uninformed and screaming parts.   Your voice is going to be hoarse before all the training camps are open.

@imst0ncld I hope for your sake that your either a troll or a child... because it would take one pathetic adult to make the ridiculous comments you have. Just so you know, a junkie is defined as:

1. A narcotics addict

2. One who has an insatiable interest or devotion

@MyDogWally @imst0ncld @jlapactually, the use of amphetamines to treat ADHD runs serious risk of addiction--it is a stated risk. Further, a number of studies suggest changes in diet prove more effective at treating the symptoms commonly labeled ADHD. Finally, moms are not going to be receptive to facts if they are attempting to medicate their children into concentration and compliance.

@MyDogWally @imst0ncld @jlap They are taking medicine for an illness you idiot, your junkie was getting high. He was getting HIGH do you get it NIT WIT!!!!!!!!!!

@imst0ncld @jlap Are you really serious or are you just trying to get a rise out of people.  Taking Adderall makes someone a junkie?  By your logic, every schoolchild with ADHD is a junkie.  Go and tell their moms that.
