Danny Amendola narrowly avoided life-threatening injury Thursday
Danny Amendola was noticeably frustrated after injuring his clavicle Thursday night against Seattle, an injury that will keep him out for between one and two months, but his situation could have turned out to be much, much worse.
FOXSports’ Jay Glazer reported Sunday that the dislocated clavicle that Amendola suffered could have put his life in danger, also adding that the injury Amendola suffered is one that is sometimes seen in fatal and near-fatal car accidents.
Amendola’s absence could significantly hamper the Rams’ offense — Amendola leads a thin St. Louis receiving corps with 32 catches for 395 yards this season. Brandon Gibson and Chris Givens should be more involved in Amendola’s absence.
Danny Amendola dislocated clavicle and it popped in, which never happens in the NFL. VERY lucky didn’t move far bc close to aorta & trachea.

Amendola’s injury was NOT life threatening but that injury very often is. His wasn’t bc it didn’t slice any arteries.Got very very lucky

Pretty sure it was against Arizona, not Seatlle.
I wouldn't say it's life threatening.. Yes any injury could be life threatening.. Heck cepsis could form with a cut on a finger.. I'd like to see the image of how close this came to the Aorta, which I assume you referrign tot he Aortic Arch. I don't hear the broken collar bone often being life threatening..
@Whytewulf no, it is actually life threatening as a posterior sternoclavicular dislocation can compress or lacerate the aorta, trachea or esophagus. Surgery to fix it is the only kind I know where it's recommended to have a cardiothoracic surgeon on standby in case of emergency.
Feel where your clavicle and sternum meet, its right at your throat.
@Whytewulf the aorta, trachea, and esophagus are right behind your sternum
